FOLLOW THE STAR COMMUNITY PROGRAM 12/18/16

Join the House of Prayer Adult Choir as we minister in song at the fourth annual Follow the Star Community program on Sunday, December 18, 2016 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Nipomo High School Gymnasium.

Churches Together Nipomo is once again hosting a beloved family Christmas tradition, the Follow the Star Community Candlelight Service.
Follow the Star brings together talented vocalists and musicians from the Central Coast in a program that retells the Christmas Story, musically presenting the reason for the season.

The yuletide fun includes caroling, a light dinner, an extensive dessert buffet and a specially designed Christmas photo area. This event, free of charge to the public, is hosted by a number of Nipomo and Central Coast churches which include House of Prayer.

This event is also a fundraiser for the Nipomo Food Basket and the Nipomo High School Athletics Department. The Nipomo Food Basket serves more than 400 clients and their families each month, providing fresh produce, bread, meat and canned and boxed food items to needy families.

The Nipomo High School Athletics Department serves 23 varsity sports and more than 600 student athletes by providing transportation, uniforms, tournament fees, field restoration and equipment fees.

On December 18, Nipomo Food Basket will collect canned food and other non-perishable food items. The public is invited to contribute items in the receptacles at the entrance of NHS gymnasium during the event.

For further information regarding this event please contact 805-896-8972

ANGEL TREE OUTREACH 2015

Angel Tree is an outreach program that helps children and their families during the holiday season. The goal at House of Prayer Church is to provide gifts to children ages 0-18 years old to show the love of Jesus and let them know they are not forgotten.

We are beginning our annual drive earlier than in years past. This will allow HOP friends and families time to adjust their holiday spending budgets to accommodate the increasing need presented to us.

This year House of Prayer Church has partnered with a local non-profit agency that specifically works with homeless families. In the past we have kept the names of the children and families anonymous, as well as the giver of the gifts.
The director of the non-profit agency has stated that if a donor would like to give their gifts directly to the children, they will help facilitate a meeting. Her goal is to break down the stereotypes of homelessness that exist.

We are asking that you prayerfully consider participating this holiday season by purchasing requested items such as toys, clothing, personal supplies, or gift cards.

Please contact Sis. Sheri Brown for more information and to sign up for this annual outreach ministry.
